About Me
My name is Hannah Abed-Rabo, and I was born in Arlington Texas to Jane and Joseph Abed-Rabo. When my parents came to the United States from Israel in 1982, they were determined to give their children a safe and comfortable upbringing, moving from Oregon to California, and then eventually landing in Texas. As a child, my favorite activities were done in solitude; I spent most of my time
reading any books I could get my hands on, drawing, and learning to play guitar in the comfort of my bedroom.
After finishing High School, I made the decision to pursue a career in food service, moving to Austin in the Fall of 2015. I completely immersed myself in the service industry, working in restaurants, bars, bakeries, coffee shops, and everything in between, all while pursuing a degree in Culinary Arts and Science. During one night of dinner service at a restaurant called Swift’s Attic, I felt so frustrated over having a small, cramped station for me to work on that I began to think about what it takes to design a successful kitchen, an inviting dining room, or a functional bar. As I began to think about what made a kitchen feel good or bad to work in, I realized I had a deep passion for designing hospitality spaces that are not just beautiful dining rooms, but also functional spaces for those who work in them.
Since then, I have been fortunate enough to work for an interior design firm that specializes in hospitality spaces, some of which have been featured in publications such as Forbes Magazine and Architecture Digest. As of 2025, I am a junior in the University of Texas system, pursuing a Bachelor's of Science in Architecture with minors in Urban Planning and Sustainability Studies. I am also currently employed at a vintage furniture boutique that specializes in sourcing and restoring mid-century modern furniture, with brands such as G-Plan, Macintosh, Nathans, and Broyhill featuring prominently in our inventory.
When not in studio or restoring credenzas, my hobbies include reading, sketching, watercolor painting, bothering my cat, cooking, and working towards a sommelier certification.
